It’s maddening in here
With the stale damp air
Seeping through my nostrils
Invading my numb senses
I used to see light
I once even had a name
Called out to me in soft whispers
As she squeezed me to her breast
Irreplaceable I seemed
My life meant so much
To one little soul
I was saved time and time again
But those times are gone
Along with the laughter
Tea parties are no more
The invitations have all dried up
The little voice that used to call me
I hear infrequently through the thick door
That sealed me in
And shut me out of her life
It’s harsher now, inside this dark cavern
Alone, dust bunnies my only friends
Not good enough for her
A reminder of her youth
Life is lonely
When you are
A forgotten teddy bear
