The Rescuer's Plight

Poetry By: Lady Elizabeth

The plight of an animal rescuer can be futile if not one is there to answer the cry...

Tick tock tick tock

the decision comes and goes

the cries wax and wane

the love fills and falls away

the pain grows and fades

the exhuberance was never there

the pleas were false

the cries were weak

the love was empty

the work left undone

the dead already dying

the rest are gone

no more trying
