Got To Go

Poetry By: Lady Wolf

Sometimes it's hard to hear people complaining about how hard their life is when I haven't seen my family in three years. Just a quick poem that came to me as I was on the plane from my last deployment.

Another plane ride,

Another scene,

Another base,

Another dream.

Pack your bags,

Grab your gear.

Stand in line,

Year after year.

Say good-bye to loved ones,

Promise to see them soon.

Accept the reality of deployment,

Ride secretly under the moon.

Artic, jungle, sand,

It doesn't matter where.

Ship me out, send me down,

Complain about your job, if you dare.
