Sweetly Heart Broken

Poetry By: Lady Wolf

Why do we always want what we can't have? Written for a young officer I work with. Damn it sucks to be enlisted!

I see you and you see me too.

I want to kiss you, but love, that's something we can never do.

Doyou know how you make me feel?

Whenever you pass me by?

Did you know you make my heart soar?

Though in my arms, you can never lie.

A stupid rank, that's all that stands in the way.

When you sit at my desk and flirt with me all day.

I see you out the corner of my eye,

When you stare and think I don't see.

Only two years apart, and a stupid rank is all that seperates you and me.

Why do we want what we can't have?

Though both our bodies crave it so?

Why do we taste the forbidden fruit,

And plant the seeds we can never sow?

So I'll continue to bite my tounge,

And hide the words that go unspoken.

I'll feel my soul fly for you,

And stay sweetly heart broken.
