Somebody's Broken Heart.

Poetry By: ladygothicka

A poem I wrote in English Lit. I was depressed, OK?! It was King Lear .... depressing ...

Somewhere, a child is dying
as her father beats her, his
eyes clouded over with hate.
Tears will come later, but for
now, her heart bleeds silently.
Somewhere, somebody's broken heart
is being shattered every day. In
this world, there is nothing to keep
your heart from being slain.
Somewhere, a girl slits her arms
to blot out her daily agony.
The blood reminds her that she
is still human, with a human's
heart and a human's emotions.
Somewhere, a woman cries for
her forgotten childhood, her
tears sliding like ice down her face.
A childhood exchanged for a broken,
shattered, bleeding heart - no love
will ever come her way now.
Somewhere, somebody's broken heart
is healing. Slowly, the woman learns
to accept her past and live with
the pain. It will never leave her,
but her pain is not as keen as
once it was. Somewhere, somebody's
broken heart is crying for joy.
