I used to be a drifter,
lost on the vast sea of
loneliness. No purpose, no
hope, no way of knowing
where I was headed.
Life meant little to me
back in those loveless days.
Then you arrived, bearing
a compass and chart.
My life began to make
sense, and I looked
at the world through
clear and focused eyes.
You saved my life.
Now we steer our boat
through the brine together.
No longer alone, we have
both found our soulmates.
So now I'll ask you,
tentatively, "Will you
please be the captain of my heart?"
