Can I count on you to always be with me?
I am alone and I feel very frightened –
will you protect me from the fears that haunt me?
Can you remember my traumatic childhood,
how you held me as the storm raged around ,e?
I don’t forget, and I swear I never will,
because everything changed when you held me tight.
Tell me, love, that you will always be with me –
will you protect me when all this is over?
Will you protect me when all this is over?
A black tide is slowly sweeping over me,
and I’m not yet strong enough to deal with it.
The memories of everything I’ve been through
will haunt me ‘til the day that I leave this earth
and go to heaven to meet my Creator.
Life is not life, love is not love, and I am
nothing more than an ant on a huge dunghill.
Can you answer me one thing before I go –
will you protect me when all this is over?
