Denial was her name

Poetry By: ladyroobug

Just another experience notch on this belt called life.. Don't mind the stanza breaks. As I said in my profile, I am just really focusing on the content right now. My poems are all still rough.

Denial was her name as she was standing in front of the mirror

Her pale reflection glanced back at her as she strummed her brittle hair

She had swallowed each one of her problems and was swollen with regret

She felt like aballoon and the needle of truth was going to pop her

So she did what she thought she had to do

Convincing herself it would be the last time, she shut the bathroom door

She noticed the stains on her fingers as she slid them down her throat

She was becoming a stranger

A stranger who craved control of a life that was spiraling down a dark and dangerous path

Her throat burned like a flickering flame as she flushed down the vomit of lies

She took one more look at herself in the mirror

Wiping away all evidence of tears on her pain stricken face

Then she walked away with one less piece of herself
