Was with thee dear heart
when autumn leaves
beneath our feet did fall
when moon light danced
and laid across the frost
on garden wall
a kiss so sweet
of breathless bliss
you placed upon my heart
and
I fell in love
that autumn night
lost to sweet surrender
and
now
like those autumn leaves
whose fragile beauty
lay upon the ground
rejected by the tree they loved
and clung to
our autumn love
dies
in sad surrender
