Avarice

--And God cries.....

Seeing - his children are at war

In a world that trembles beneath their feet

As they stampede across the land

Leaving a trail of devastation in their wake

--And the Earth cries.....

As she crumbles underneath their weight

Bleeding from the wounds they have inflicted

As they rip and tear her apart

Each one not willing to share - wanting more

They snap and snarl like wild dogs

As they gleefully kill one another

And with bloody fangs- they take their prey

As they bay and howl at the moon - and slink into the darkness

Where they devour - and - devour - until there is nothing left

--And God cries.....

--As the Earth dies.......

                                                     --And the devil reigns supreme
