The little bird bowed his head... in shame
Because he had no wings... they called him names
No matter how he tried.... he could not fly
A bird... without wings...just left to die
So he walked...along the hardened ground
Living on the scraps...of pity...that he found
As snow fell like feathers...all around
All his dreams of flying... falling down.
And soon the little bird... no longer cried
For something in his heart... had died
So...when the eagle scooped him up
To take him to his nest...
The little bird decided... death was best...
And as they lifted up... into the sky of blue
In that single moment.... of bliss...he knew
This was what he... was born and would die to do...
And so ...in the talons of an eagle...he finally flew.
