Two lovers broken apart

I hear your voice echo through the night,
I hear the pounding of my heart beat as I run,
I hear the withdrawing waves on the white beach,
I hear the whispering of that night of sweet tender.
And even though what we had is gone,
We still remember those memories,
For I remember there's a place we used to be together,
And it will stay in the outskirts of my soul forever.
I hear your voice echo through the gloom,
I hear the pounding of my feet against the ground,
I hear the crashing of waves upon the rocks,
I hear the memories of days long since passed.
And even though what was good is now gone,
We still cherish those memories,
For we recall those times spent alone at home,
And it will stay in our hearts forever.
I hear your voice calling for me in the night,
I sense that trouble ahead is swallowing you whole,
But what can I do when I'm just so feeble,
So weak that I can't even help you.
And even though I used to be strong,
And just because we are finished,
It doesn't mean that I don't still care for you,
And if I had the strength I would save you.
But I was too late . . .
