I may wander far, my love
My heart may lose its sight
But I will n’er forget, my love
While you’re my guiding light

The sea may beckon too, my love
And I might fly the winds
But don’t forget my words, my love
I'll long regret these sins

I might falter oft, my love
And sometimes I might fall
But don’t let go of me, my love
And I won’t lose it all

Some days the dark may win, my love
And I’ll curse this very earth
But bitter nights will end, my love
For you’re my lasting mirth

One day I’ll finally find, my love
This longest journey’s end
And then you’ll see at last, my love
How much your love has meant

Until then please be near, my love
No matter what might come
And I will fight for you, my love
Until, at last, it’s done

That Was Beautiful. I Really Liked It.

Thanks again--this one was kind of weird to me because it's not really my type of thing, but I got the first line stuck in my head and I had to follow it through to conclusion. I'm glad you liked it. It was definatly interesting to step out of my norm and walk around in someone else's world a bit...I mean I'm only a teenager still so the concept isn't entirely familiar. Heheh. But I like to think it'll mean more to me eventually.

this is really good i totally pressed the i like button for this...where did you get the inspiration for this?

Inspiration? Well, this one weirdly enough came from an old hymn I heard on the radio called "Come thou Fount" sung by Jadyn Lavik. The last verse of the song says "Oh to grace, how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be. Let thy mercy, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee: Prone to wander lord I feel it; prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above."

Okay, so that's probably not going to make any sense in connection to this, but basically hearing that verse of that song like really really impacted me because it's soooo how I feel. I mean, deep stuff. I think we've got the whole God thing in common so I'll go ahead and talk some genuine, wholesome God-talk here! Hahh! I feel like, sometimes, I inevitablly stray away from God, not in the sense that I don't love him just as much or anything, but just that I forget sometimes that I'm living wholly and utterly for him. Like I get too overwhelmed in new movies, or stuff with my friends, or just other stuff. You know? And I hate that it happens because I don't want to forget about God in all that--but at the same I inevitably desire the world too. Anyway, I decided to write a love poem. But not really a conventional one, it's not necessarily just to "God" because it's written more like it's to a human person so that anyone can apply themselves to it's words, but for me it's a prayer. Like if you can imagine a normal, everyday teenage girl on their knees begging these words to the heavens--you'll catch my meaning in them. It's kind of like that verse in the song. I want to love God with all my being, and I do, but I know myself and I know that, like, whatever in me that is human, is going to be constantly distracted by the world. I might "wander far" I might "fly the winds" but I'm just begging in those single moments where I am wholly in the God-zone and where I can leave the rest behind, I just beg that he'll freeze my heart in that moment and save it for me. That he'll keep safe those moments when I'm purely lost in him so that I can find my way back to them when I wander on with the rest of my life....

Yeah. So wow, that was way deeper than I meant to go in this response. hahah! I tend to do that....anywho. Erm, so thanks for the view! *ahah--I feel really awkward now, like I just spilled my soul*
