indod' emnyama ( a black man)

Poetry By: LEBEA
Poetry

i hate those who blame the colour of their skin for all that goes wrong in their lives. it is pathetic and one should focus on their strengths not weaknesses.
even though it's true that your skin colour has some effect on your life i feel that one should never give up because of it.
sometimes what may seem to be weakness can sometimes provide strength and the same weakness can provide you with an advantage or give you the upper hand because people undermines you for that. enjoy the poem.

INDOD' EMNYAMA

I am a Blackman

And I'm proud of it.

The creator, created me to be special,

He created me to possess strength.

Because of my strength I am loathed

And yet I love them with all their weaknesses.

My strength intimidates them

But their weaknesses fascinate me.

I am the servant and yet I'm the master.

They say that I the colour black

Symbolize darkness, evil and all that is unclean.

But I am the superior colour

For I can absorb all the colours and still remain the same.

I am understood by creation,

For I am the son of the soil.

They may clog, obstruct and shutdown my course, my route.

But I shall succeed.

For I am strong.

They've alienated me, enslaved me and abused me;

Yet I survived.

I was the slave, now I'm the master.

I was a black man,

I am a black man

And I will forever & ever

Be,

A proud Blackman

Amen.
