I keep seeing but

I know you’re not here,

Even though you never were,

It’s like I’ve seen you

A thousand times before. 

I keep thinking and

I know my thoughts are hollow dreams

Because nothing with you in it

Is ever complete and new;

But my thoughts are my life. 

I keep feeling

Your arms around me,

Even thought you’re not here,

And you never were,

Except in the tunnels of

My destructive thoughts. 

And when I want to feel

Nothing else anymore,

I think about: what

Could have been; should have been;

About you and me.
