Blue Sky, Come Back

Poetry By: Liam Strong

I was gazing out my window this morning, saw the deep blueness of the sky above, and realised how much I love its boundlessness...

Blue Sky, come back,

You mustn't leave me to despair.

Blue Sky, clear up

All this hopelessness in the air.

Red Sky, don't bleed

Yourself, you haven't done a thing wrong.

Red Sky, bring light

To us before dusk creeps along.

Black Sky, you dwell

All round with a scheming constellation.

Black Sky, don't fear

Another passing morning's syncopation.

Pink Sky, make haste,

Light up this weary, black fume.

Pink Sky, you jest

And colour my mornings as a lilac's bloom.

Orange Sky, you wash

All my deepest worries away.

Orange Sky, you find

A cure against lament in the face of my day.

Grey Sky, don't cry,

You needn't shed your sorrow as rain.

Grey Sky, I love

How we share our drifting pain.

No Sky, you suspend

The wind with raging water, fire and thunder.

No Sky, be gone

From this place of life you plunder.

Blue Sky, come back,

Let me swim again while you're staying.

Blue Sky, can't hear

Any of the words I am saying.
