The daybreak bursts through my windows and dares me
Nothing I do in the night time prepares me
Sunlight streams down in beams from the skies
My hands and my Ray Banns are shielding my eyes
Lightness and brightness evoke pleasant dreams
Apparently it seems removing the screams
With this light comes reality of the day dawning
Supposedly carrying our futures in morning
It banishes the dark as if it were wrong
Glosses itself with laughter and birdsong
You look at the Sun and you have fun and tan
I look at the Sun as a desperate man
For with the new daylight comes truth and starkness
I'd rather spend my lifetime in darkness
