The night has become my friend and brings me solace
The moon and stars a welcome home to my palace
The trees whisper secrets in the night time breeze
The shadows formed force me down on my knees
The creatures hunting only pause the stillness
The tranquil darkness affords me no illness
The air I intake after midnight maintains me
The lack of sleep and the voices detains me
The solitude of the pre-morn enlightens me
The noise from the shadows formed frightens me
The daybreaks impending arrival wastes light
The truth can only be found in the night
The reflection I speak to alone gives me strength
The brain feels no strain and we talk at length
The words that I write and the hours I spend...
The night time has become my friend.
