I attempted a metaphorical line in this poem. i don't know how well it'll go over. anyways, this one is also going to be a song (hopefully) View table of contents...

You know we saw this coming

From so far away

But of course we were blind

To the oncoming pain

 

You know better than most

That life is not fair

I tried to even the odds

But this match wasn’t a pairs

 

So I’ll live with my pain, everyday

I’ll live with seeing you, grow and change

Cause this life wasn’t meant, for us to love

And we weren’t meant to live, in peace with the doves

 

I know better than most

How a heart can be scarred

Because I always

Let my heart go to far

 

I’m done with my regrets, and the pain I feel inside

Cause when I let you go, you know I’m gonna fly

 

So I’ll forget all my pain, more each day

I can live without you, and your pain

Cause this life wasn’t meant, for us to love

And now I can live, in peace with the doves
