delusions of grandeur
swim through my brain
rescuing me from the depths where I've lain
the summit I climbed, a precarious place
the tide I did summon ripped me down on my face
like a toddler unbalanced
shaky and scared
determined to walk
hold my head in the air
tomorrow's my future
it's all up to me
I have the power to finally fly free
soar with the eagle
not a care in the world
if I had one wish
I'd come back as a bird.
