Am I perfect Yet?

I jump in the shower

and scrub from head to toes.

gotta be perfect.

An empty smile as I

do my hair, do my make up,

gotta be perfect.

Spray some perfume

and suffocate as I

squeeze into those tight, sexy jeans,

at least I'll be perfect...

Now I'll sit here and wait

curled up in a ball

hoping for the text telling me he's here

saying, "yes, I kept my promise."

the one I know will never come.

...but would he think I'm perfect?

As the day ends

I drag my numb body

out into the freezing col

and let the rain ruin

my exquisite make up and elaborate hair.

Guess I wasn't so perfect afterall...

Maybe tomorrow?

Tomorrow I'll be

perfect enough he'll have to come!

Or maybe tomorrow

he'll find a way to break the rest of my heart.
