Make me smile all you want,
It's not true, my lies will stop.
My soul's still black, even if you pretend,
One day, these lies will end.
These memories, they chain me,
Who am I meant to be?
Should I be the puppet you say,
Or should I cut these too tight strings?
Should I play the part you ask,
Or should I remove this happy mask?
You think I'll play your little games,
You don't think I get a say?
I'm not a toy for your fun,
I'm not a joke for your pun.
Live by yourself, live in your own lies,
These memories become untied.
These tight chains are coming off,
These old lies are turning soft.
Look in my eyes, do they project emotion,
Listen to my words, are thee full of fun?
Next time you think someone's life is perfect,
Do you think your assumption is worth it?
You can't judge a book by its cover,
For all you know, the picture of a horse is for a lover.
I'll Escape Your Lies, to that I swear,
This book's cover is being shed.
