I never said you were perfect,
I never said that you weren’t worth it.
Every time I close my eyes,
My memory becomes my only sight.
I refuse to cry over what I’ve lost,
The fact is that my hearts been crossed.
When the wind blows,
Away with it you’ll go.
I refuse to be a victim again,
I choose to ignore the promises you said.
The fact remains, you always lie,
But like I said, I will not cry.
I’m learning how to rise above,
This hold you had, what you claimed was love.
Sure I know healing will take time,
But heartache is just a sweet wine.
You think it’ll never stop tasting bittersweet,
Until you realize it’s a little treat.
Here today, gone tomorrow,
Though the hangover does bring self sorrow.
But by the next day, you’re fine again,
So you, my love, have my full consent.
I'm braking free,
An angel with wings.
Soon you’ll be,
Nothing But A Memory.
