Scorched...
Sweat forms at the top of my brow, pooling in the brim of my upper lip,
the sun beats down its powerful rays, burning my skin,
causing the shade of beige to sizzle to a piping red.
Looking up into the the clear baby blue sky, I shield my eyes.
birds of prey float in circles above me, hovering...
Waiting for their food to perish.
I look around, breathing in the dusty air that swirls around little dust storms at my feet.
In this baron wilderness. Alone, I wait.
For nothing to come my way....
