Pop a pill,
To suppress this nagging ache,
I refuse to feel.
Swallow it down,
Erase the sorrow,
And hope it won't return tomorrow.
Yet it creeks,
Begins to creep,
Soon my heart,
Surrenders and weeps.
Weigh the pain,
On a scale,
Measure the grief,
Of all my fails.
Tick tock,
On the dot,
Do not fear,
When you hear,
A shot.
But fear your life,
Hold onto your dreams,
For life is simply,
Not what it seems.
Reverse time,
Wind it down,
Hear the shot,
Remember the sound.
The sound of blood,
The sound of me,
Having one and final plea.
The final thought is,
The final sound,
Watch me smile,
As I hit the ground.
So let me rot,
Leave me be,
For finally,
Finally,
For I am free.
