Age of my Lover
Your smile, so honest, trusting, care.
I watch you watching me, your eyes dark and shining
I move and like a camera you capture my every stride
You call to me, with so much courtesy, bold flattery
I know you have experience, by the way you approach women
Your lips move with such precision as you aim to impress.
Your baritone voice, so smooth, so calm, you’re confident not stressed.
I step closer to you as you engage me in a conversation
Knowing well your intentions to woo me but for uncertainty.
Your friends tell you I am too young for you
My friends say you’re too old for me too
But what do you feel when you look at me for true
I feel a good friendship can grow between you and me
Let’s take that chance, together we can be.
Your eyes show such emotion my heart all but melts
Your lips tremble, confusion as the words fall out.
My legs are so weak, I’m breathing all so fast
Oh. . . .enough of this madness, let’s try, maybe what we feel will last!
