Evening Song
Here I am in thought, and evening comes to find me lonely
Moths and butterflies, descend by my window seeking entry
They don’t realise, I need someone to love me.
They want the firelight, I burn each and every night.
There’s no human voice, just moonlight on my window pane
Stars they shimmy bright, they shuffle, shine in black blue sky
Still they have a relationship, bright lights they won’t cry
Where is love when I need you truly, hold my head and sigh.
Now I hear the owl’s nocturnal wake, the sound he makes
He is calling out and soon he’s going to find his mate.
All I do is sit and wonder in the glare of fire light.
Oh . .how I would love that someone to be here tonight!
