Farewell my Friend
Farewell my friend, your journeys end hath met it’s final road.
I hear the cry of those close by, from the far and in the deep
For that you were and all you’ve been will never be again
The love, the rock, the soother of so many has now come to a final end.
Farewell my friend, your journeys end, you now have finally reached.
Out pours the love of all you’ve touched, their solemn faces show it.
The selfless way you helped those in need, to just mentoring the young.
So many cry, there’s no dry eye as they remember you right now.
Farewell my friend, your journey’s end, hath you now finally reached.
Through winter’s snow, fog, mist and cold, they parade you through the street.
The mood is dark as loved ones cry, your cortege, flowers, blinkered eye.
The silent rest that has now come, is a final walk to take you home.
