Hide my tears If I laugh, spread a little joy; there'll be none the
wiser of my true feelings. As I'd hide all my fears, wrap them up
in my heart, with a smile! If I cry, there are some who'll say, I
am seeking attention, that nothing's wrong with me. Only those who
know me well, realise I'm under strain if I cry, I'm feeling sad.
So do I act and pretend I'm ok; wear a smile on my worst of days.
Be a hypocrite about how I feel, because though people ask, they
don't want to know what is real! When I speak, the world is at my
feet, I'm admired and envied by some who despise My confidence, and
my wisdom, when I speak! When I speak, there are none can say, I
use exaggeration to get my own way. I have strength, powerful my
words, to hold your attention. There are the few who hate me to
talk, they can't stop me as I'll say more. Whether you're hurt or
feel offence, I won't take back nor hold my breath. That is my way,
it's alright to be who you are! When I call, who will hear and
come, to my assistance when I need someone. If I call, will you
come to me at once. If I crave, the company of you, because deep
inside I need one to talk to Will you come, will you listen, when I
call? Or should I stay all on my own, without someone to tell me
where I go wrong. To wipe my tears, allay my fears, help me calm.
