Slave
Enslaved and owned for many years, by ruthless evil bathed in sweat, death, tears.
Chained and beaten like a mad dog, by mad dogs obsessed with the keys of liberty.
Chained, lashed, called derogatory names, no time to be insane.
Muddy, wet and dying from ills effect of poverty, maltreatment.
Hanged because you’re worn and weak, useless to withstand the perils slave man.
Tilling the plantations, constant displays of strength to those who use your every being.
Whip cracked over your back to wake you if you ever slack.
Torture and abuse of mind and soul, women folk raped, nothing they can say or do.
Bore the offspring of their masters, those are raped too!
Men with broken limbs, children with their hands chopped off, and wail.
Sleeping on a narrow board where others urinate; morning comes and there’ll be those who will not see the day.
Either they die from their wounds, starve to death or are taken and murdered before day!
Slave, slave, in this day and age, is still happening look far and wide, you’ll see that it is a thing that’s not put aside!
