The Rain Beat
I heard a gentle thud repeat,
Twas’ rain a falling with a rhythmic beat.
Pitta, patta, bop, bop, bop,
The sound on the skylight would not stop.
I ventured out into the night,
Tilted my head soaked up the rain at it’s height,
Oh such happiness from within did I hide.
Until this night of storm and hail.
My clothes absorbed the cool wet night.
As rain lashed and splashed, obscuring sight.
The earth with its blessing continued to pour.
As I retreated indoors, the rain sprayed down more!
