THE ENCHANTING SEA
By: Adwoa G. Darko
As pure as the soul of a new born;
As clear as the precious crystals;
As beautiful as the early spring morning,
And as refreshing as the sounds of a waterfall.
Poseidon welcomes me with his mighty breath;
Enchanting all that see, with his magnificent surroundings of nature’s creations.
The waves it creates washes away all my worries
And its thundering whooshing sounds, excite my senses.
Like the endless sheets of heaven,
The Sea occupies every thought and breath of both the living and the dead;
And at its bottomless pit, lies monuments of incredible myths and legends.
Things that are beyond human imagination lighten the darkness that exists in its depth.
The sea mirrors my feelings and reveals only the beauty within –
Like the ocean reflects the splendour of the sky on its surface.
It spits out its watery eggs and consummates with the splitting rays of the sun,
Reproducing the wondrous colours of the rainbow.
As the day draws to a close,
The sea opens its windows and puts the sun to sleep
And awakens the goddess of Lunar.
It streams to me the healing glow of the night;
Resurrecting all my sensual pleasures.
