The Redeemed Heart

Poetry

It's about being lost spiritually and not being able to do anything right. It's about being lost and found. Quite simple really. It's more of a thought than a poem. But please comment.

The Redeemed Heart

By: Adwoa G. Darko.

What is the meaning of all this foolishness?
People here and there,
Going on about businesses that bring no joy to the soul;
With everything that goes on in life,
One might think that we live in a world ruled by Memnock.

The beauty that surrounds us is often perceived as nothingness.
We overlook the magnificence of a supernatural force
And consult to the pleasures of the heart.
Our hearts become overshadowed with the dark clouds of evil;
A place of no return.

The cunning thoughts of our other half
Make it difficult for it to come out of its depressant state.
Its vampire nature
Makes it see no sunlight.
Its condescending thoughts corrupting the divine.

In the pits of Hades it cries out for help
But the dark clouds muffle the cries of its agony.
Salvation knocks on its door but it doesn’t answer;
It can’t hear –
It’s far too gone.

It shows Him the roots of its fungus
And He shows it the depth of His love –
The crucifixion of His beloved Son that it might be saved.
Through the dark clouds, He extends His gracious hand
The darkness perishes before the Sun.

Its door suddenly opens
And it is bathed with the love and warmth of His tender kindness.
It burst with joy and everlasting gladness
For through its redemption,
It finally breathes YAWEH.
