Little Memories.

Poetry By: Maddie Patrick
Poetry

I wrote this after hearing a old song that I knew. But didn't really know I knew it so well. It made me realize that their are so many things that I have forgotten. All the little memories that are just going to go away even if you don't want them too. Because you just don't remember them. The only thing we can do is try to make the little memories bigger so we can hold on to them longer.

It puzzles me because the seconds it took to read this summary you will never ever get back. And it makes me realize how important these few seconds are about. And this is what this poem is about.

I heard a song I hadn't heard in years

Part of my life, I knew all the words

It made me sad but without tears

It made me think about the world

We spend our life taking them for granted

The little moments that make up the bigger ones

The ones that are wasted

Many people give away pennies

But once saved up becomes something trusted

Pennies like the little memories

Saved up becomes something great

But everyday they are given away

That song reminded me of a keepsake

Of the small memories that slowly fade away

Thirty years from now will I remember this poem

This second right now, is now gone

And the sentence you just read

Is now lost in the catacombs of your head

Probably never to be remembered again

All we can do is try to remember back when

And live every second to the fullest

Cause when we we make mistakes

It goes down in our lowest

But the good memories will be forgotten

And never remembered again

That song was a gateway into the catacombs of my mind

Made me think of the way back when

Gave me a feeling of sentimentality

And gave me those memories back

Just to be forgotten again
