Gustav Klimt- The Kiss

The beauty in love she once did see

For the feeling arrived so lucidly

The colors appeared so vibrant in mist

The scent so acute, too hard to resist

But she was heavily blinded with delights of yore

Flowers will not suffice, love is found in more

Meaning is present in something uncanny

Worth a search in every nook and cranny

To a foul mouthed beast love is something to be waged

To diminish solidarity, to possess, to be caged

Forever enflamed with paralyzed petals

Hot enough to burn the toughest of all metals

Those vines they bind her

Whether it be a rose or a fir

And his gold clothing, it kills

Can’t he see all the blood it spills?

With smashing forcedness, she falls to her knees

Hoping for it to stop, for time to freeze

With tender hands he pulls her near

Shaking her like a replaceable chandelier

With the absence of lips she has no pleasure

That’s why her ankles are bound, a precautionary measure

She will be his consuming prize

Making him the subject of his own demise

Domination in his posture

Destitution in her laughter

Forever enslaved

Forever enraptured
