Brittle Balance

Poetry By: Maij

Written during a wind storm...

Shards of dormant life

Weave in and out of one another

In natural balance.

Borne of winters destitution,

Marked by the sickness of fragile limbs

And lifeless pods of seed,

The mangled twigs and boughs

Sway to and fro;

Basketing the winter sky

From common view.
