Tear-laden winds
caress my cheek.
The droplets splash
and begin to speak.
They whisper fiercely
and sarcastically tout,
the grand convenience
of natures drought.
They splash with glee
long over due.
They quench the earth
in moisture new.
The birds are glad;
some sing
some dance.
Even the leaves
give a little prance.
Together they praise
this gift of cloud essence,
with the swift hope
of banishing
the drought's omnipresence
