Xenophobic ideologies
Give way pompous bigotry
Which gives way to a hate born of ignorance
Causing the world to relive its history
Of times laced with the stench of bitter blood
And lives cut short for game-like end
Where justice had not yet begun to bud
And injustice ran rampant with none to defend
This cycle of biased antipathy
Is nothing more than a creature of obduracy
That deems crimes fueled by abhorrence
Of grand and worthwhile victory
Such unenlightened, dense beliefs
Once seemed so far away from me
But the illumination of their existence
Has demolished my optimistic naivety
Such affairs are the poison of our world
Tainting the light of futures unforeseen
But if challenged with weapons forged in bravery
We may yet salvage our humanity
