Faith in Others
We put expectations on people.
We tell them our expectations.
Inevitably, these people are human
and will fail.
Some fail more than others.
We don't know why,
and we may never know why.
Our hearts shatter into a million pieces
and the only person there to pick them up
We don't want to do it ourselves;
it's a lonely job.
To sit there and pick up every little piece.
Picking up each piece of our shattered heart,
we look at it and remember why it was broken.
And we learn from that.
