For Husband and Wife

Why do I love you?

I love you for

The beauty

I see in your eyes.

I love you for

The happiness

I feel in your heart.

I love you for

The forgiveness

Of my personal flaws,

The faults that are unique.

I love you for

The smile

You give me

First thing in the morning,

Not knowing

What the day shall bring.

I love you for

The day's promise

Of being with you

When the sun begins to set.

You enrich my life

With beautiful music.

And that is the keepsake

That is forever in my heart.

I love you for

Being there for me

Whether I needed you or not.

I love you for

The confidence we have

In each other.

The secrets we keep,

The love we share

Is like no other.

This is why

I love you.
