I'll Meet You At Home

Poetry By: MAmberConrad

Okay, so I had to spend a couple of months in jail for writing too many bounced checks. So, I was apart from my baby girl for that long. This is a poem I wrote while I was in there. (FYI: I'm in the clear now, she's 10 now and is a beautiful healthy girl. She says she doesn't even remember me going away)

You think
Mama ain't coming home.
No, not today.
You think
Mama won't call home.
No, not today.
Mama went away.
I pick up the phone
Just to hear your voice,
Just to reach you,
Talk to you,
To tell you
I'll meet you at home,
My dear.
I'll see you in my dreams.
Mama's coming home soon.
All I want you to do
Is close your eyes
And smile.
I'll meet you at home,
My sweet.
Mama's not too far away.
Close enough
To miss you terribly.
You think
Mama's not coming home.
No, not today.
But close your eyes
And make your wish,
And I'll race you home.
