I went to the Doctor to really find out
what the constant flutter in my tummy was about
He came back to my room, smiling with pride
and calmly said," dear the rabbit died"
so he tried again just as slow as can be
this time I grasped the gist of his words
and tried to be cool about what I just heard
It's a condition common to the human race
so go home, relax and watch your weight
I asked once more, it's not a definite maybe?
No he said "you're going to have a baby"
and hoped like hell, that nothing failed
Then near the end came one of nature's tricks
I started having the Braxton and Hicks
It was the strangest feeling I'd ever had
and wasn't sure if it was good or bad
The feeling was like fire, ice, needles and pins
and I considered it not one of nature's wins
oh yes it was, as I quickly found out
for the questions answered left me no doubt
so I just sat, waited and tried to be brave.
The next that happened, my water broke
with enough fluid in my view to float a boat
The Doctor arrived from delivering another
and said "tomorrow morning you'll be a mother"
a caesarean section is not what I expected
but also knew that I wasn't being neglected
Early that morning all prepared for the event
off to the operating room I went
when I woke up in the late afternoon
I asked them to please take me to my room
I felt very tired and just wanted to sleep
then a guest arrived that I had to meet
all dressed in blue, what an amazing joy
when they handed me my beautiful baby
