The Mind

Poetry By: mar1e
Poetry

Inspired by a movie I watched, 'Memento'. All about how we sometimes start to/ try to/ want to... forget some memories.

Memories gets passed and shared,

like little tales to our children

If we forget some we get scared,

that it could all go to oblivion...

Forgetfulness can be a blessing,

it teaches us not to brood

Our life gets less depressing,

as it brings about a better mood...

Trust the people you love,

not like a hot drink in your cup

The mind is like a trapped dove,

when it feels like giving up...

When you stare at a blank wall,

your imagination starts a painting

But as the pieces crumble and fall,

it no longer seems entertaining...

Fading memories leave us feeling old,

as short term memory gets to everyone

It erases things that are hard to hold,

but then you can start your life, undone...
