The world would flip the script

With a twist no one saw coming

Twiddling our thumbs

And very very distantly humming

Down the street

Men committing adultery

Thighs and breasts for sale

Cheap: fancy poultry

High heels and bubble skirts:

Anonymity's best choice

Taste a little haute couture

Suddenly, you've lost your voice

Step softly through the snow

Innocence, it might break

As you ponder the consequence

Of your shadow falling in the way

Smooth, almost touching

Sparks flare between

They catch each other without words

What does this mean?

Rowing along, merrily

Life is but a dream

No time to pause or cry

Over fallen whey and cream

It is a matter of

Seasons coming and floating away

On the dandelion wind

At the end of the day

Today is tomorrow

And God has a knapsack

Filled with a million things

We all believe we lack

Shallow sunsets soothe souls

As great adventures unfold

What has made them drunk

Has made me bold

The elusive butterfly

That sits on your shoulder

When nobody's looking:

Happiness, gets harder when you're older

Life is tesselations

Fitting neatly in the scene

But with such crazy patterns

Sometimes making us scream

Mumble through madness

Navigating in the dark

Blind to common sense

Just trying to make a mark

thanks, do you have a favorite stanza? I posed these to a few people before posting it on Booksie and they all picked a favorite. I'm really glad that you liked it! Feel free to check out any of my other stuff, too! I haven't really been on in a while because I've been really busy...but pretty soon, I'll be able to read your material! ♥
