One toxic stare
Those gleaming eyes
Trying to pretend
Not to see
Glance
Shiver
A wave of uneasiness
Radiates
From him to me
Eye to eye
I feel a non-existent touch
It is only a memory
Happiness
Flashes of what was
Dark shadows
Of what I will become
All I want;
All I ever wanted
Was just to be me
Standing alone in the dark
One ray
And I am no longer scared
I am no longer alone
I now have me

This is sweet. A kind of 'I believe in me' poem but one that most can relate to after painful break ups.
