...Satin Sunset

When I left school into the murky undergrowths of college...

Accept life, and life will forget it,
And every bracing dawn and satin sunset will forget,
As every passing traveller forgets,
It will be torn from your life's book,
Despite your pain and tears and regret.

Draw your life, and with joy color it,
And rejoice with every bright brandishing brush of color,
With steady tears of sad rainbow's colors,
It will be a complete painting.
Despite this, your face looks duller...

So say Goodbye, leave this place thanking,
That time is for every new person and every new race,
And such a blessing for the new races!
Wipe your grey thoughts and every hurt,
Cry down that look, now hurting, in your face.
