How can I give thanks for the monument
of your heart which you build like a
ladder to the stars? When I climb your
words I feel myself looking down at a
universe filled with your love, your compassion;
until my eyes are filled with tears, my
heart with desire, my touch with longing,
and my soul filled with you.

I see you naked. Stepping out of a
controlled absence. I see you feeling in
the darkness for a part of you which
existed without consent. I
witness your fear to take the next step
in case the stars give way, and then your
frustration at pulling back; at hesitating
and hiding behind the old cold comfort

which is no comfort anymore. I see
the colour of your theme; alone among
others it pierces my world; a secret tongue
in a fresh scent of saying. Inviolable
it moves like the ocean winds, creating
a tidal motion in a sea of barley
across the summer of our birth; the insect
sun crawling across my skin and onto yours.

As I sit looking from my window your
words cast a warring argument in my
head. The old furies are present again
and I wonder how much the digging pulls
you back? They are words for a generation
of lovers; their hearts around each others pain,
this single conflict balancing the eyes -
a longing thirst to share each others skin.

And their grief, like mine, sucked from a year’s
absence is no stranger to the weather;
fearing that time when your words may quietly
slip away. Though in this season of high
grasses and sun flakes your words are like a
horse with wings, which takes height and climbs your
monument of words, monument of feeling,
that takes me back to your birth among the stars.

wow, thanx again for another wonderful comment. I love how you say "ur poems are her words through you...as if u r a blank canvas and she is the painter" this is so, so true!!
Thank you as always for stopping by and leaving such a wonderful comment on my work!!

Again, your poetry has you looking/gazing from another realm...behind a window pane.

Oh some days your poetry is a little chilling, in regards to spoiling a wonderful woman. Of course, my favourite line is I see You Naked. And the sun crawls from skin to skin....wow this shocks the soft nature of quite simply, nature.

Erotica alert: you've filled her as she's filled your soul. Matt.

Your birth among the stars...steeping with astrology and how the cosmic cusps play full heart a game of poker where gambling outside your worth may pay off more-so than what your hand holds. Will the 2 signs pair up? Most likely as like attracts like.

I wish I could give such justice to your poetry as you give to mine Matt. Know that.

THis is beautiful, indeed.

thanx again peachy for another wonderful comment. You do give "such justice" to my poems, and i appreciate it much. I wanted this poem to describe how the beautiful poetry of a beautiful woman touches my soul.
i do believe that love is first born in the cosmos, and there it waits until the day we are meant to discover it.
Without my muse i would not be able to write!
Thanx again for stopping by to read.

'when I climb your words' WOW!
'the color of your theme; a secret tounge in a fresh scent of saying'

This is just SO remarkable, to use your own word; 'Monumental' to the person who I believe to be so very fortunate to have you. to have this gift of writing and then to also have someone that absorbe, even breathes your words inside and out. Matthew this poem is probably the most sweetest, endearing thing, makes one tear up a little, yes to get somebody so completely....again: WOW
