So now my silver shining star,
shining near, shining far,
shine your light upon my pillow,
laying snug beneath a willow,
shine so I may fall asleep,
catch my tears for I do weep,
and when a shooting star you see,
remember that’s a kiss from me,
and now the moon is shining bright,
I say to you, my love, goodnight!

hey thanx rain, i might just do that

After your great comments on some of my work I thought I'd look at some of yours. I was not disappointed.

This piece is delicate and for me its more about what is not said -the words between the lines-

It's sad and thoughtful (at least thats what i get from it)"shining near, shining far" was the line that stood out the most for. Like someone who is forever with you but not here at all: I love that image. Its like the promise of forever

An exquisite poem

Matthew so sweet, so sad. So simply, beautifully, thoughtfully, lovingly written - a poem to endure through the ages.
