Have you ever really cried?
Not because of an ouchy, or toy when you were five
But because you felt yourself die, on the inside
Because somebody deceived you, somebody lied

Have you ever really cried?
Not because you were sad
Not because someone died
Have you ever really cried?

Have you ever really felt?
Not just physical pain

Have you ever felt longing?
Have you ever felt shame?
Have you ever felt judgment?
Have you ever felt pain?

These things I once had
But they were taken away
By the white pills, and blue pills
Day after day

Sometimes I feel them
And sometimes I won’t
Sometimes I can catch them
But most times I don’t
