Ode to Sedona

Out of dark-green juniper trees.
Rising up from the depths of time.
Throbbing with the beat of tribal drums
Red-rocks tower over the landscape
Sentinels of mystical power.
Their beauty and splendor endures
Ancient gods still roam the land
In Sedona their presence lingers
The ghosts of the past are close at hand
Powers of time and memory merge into one.
Vortices of energy fill the air,
Sedona beautiful land of mystery
Beliefs and cultures in harmony
They have blended well under the watchful
         Eyes of the Guardians
The traditions transforming
Sedona, red-rocks under sea-blue sky
Mystical center of ancient power
